Jochen is an experienced consultant in the financial industry and beyond. Based in Frankfurt and Hong Kong, he supports financial centres, stock exchanges, regulatory authorities and corporates in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
On behalf of the financial centre of Frankfurt he takes care of development and implementing partnerships between Frankfurt and other international financial centres. He helps leading financial centres to develop themselves into global FinTech hubs, establishing vibrant start-up ecosystems and supporting young companies with new business ideas in finance & technology. Furthermore, he has a special interest in Blockchain technology, where he brings projects, experts, companies and investors together.
Last but not least, he consults Chinese companies and investors in doing business in Germany and German companies to be successful in China.
From 1999 to 2013 Jochen worked in different leading positions for Deutsche Börse Group, a leading and fully integrated global exchange organisation headquartered in Frankfurt. As SVP for International Affairs he was in charge of Deutsche Börse Group’s business in emerging markets.
Between 2001 and 2005 he served as a lecturer at Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.
Jochen holds a diploma in mathematics & computer science from the University of Göttingen and a Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Cottbus, Germany. He is Research Professor for FinTech & Blockchain at the International Innovation Center of Hankou University, Wuhan, China.
Most recently he was responsible for national and international business and product development in a position as Senior Client Advisor Financial Institutions at Credit Suisse, a leading global bank headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland. The offering of the Global Transaction Banking unit was Electronic Order Routing and Domestic and Global Custody Solutions.
Before to that, Bernhard worked nearly 10 years in various senior positions for SIX Swiss Exchange and Deutsche Börse Group, two leading and fully integrated global exchange organisations headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland and Frankfurt, Germany.
From 2007 to 2011 he worked for Scoach Schweiz (now SIX Structured Products Exchange) and Scoach Europa (now Börse Frankfurt Zertifikate), a joint venture between SIX Swiss Exchange and Deutsche Börse Group operating Europe’s largest exchange for structured products where he was responsible for business and product development in Europe and Russia.
Prior to that, he was responsible for business development and client relationship management for the derivatives market in Italian speaking Switzerland and Italy as well as new markets with main focus on CEE countries at Eurex, one of the world's leading derivatives exchanges offering a broad range of international benchmark products.
Between 2003 and 2005 he was in charge of trading surveillance (markets supervision & investigations) of structured products listed at SIX Swiss Exchange and derivatives instruments traded on Eurex.
He started his career back in 1995 when working for Goldman, Sachs & Co. Bank in Zurich, Switzerland in the trading department to then have the opportunity to lead the middle office of the exchange listed structured products business.
He holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Zurich, Switzerland and thereafter successfully has completed a number of job related further education. He is business fluent in German, Italian, English, French and Croatian. Basic knowledge in Spanish and Russian.
